Gillian holds two positions at the University of Manchester.  She is a Relationship Manager within Research IT which now has one of the largest RSE groups in the country.  She is also the Programme Manager for the N8 Centre of Excellence for Computationally Intensive Research (N8 CIR), a centre designed to help researchers make the most of computational techniques and resources.

Previous to this she worked with N8 HPC and the National Grid Service in the areas of user engagement, outreach and community building for over 15 years. 

Gillian’s main interests are in community building and reaching out to potential audiences in order to grow the community and to highlight the benefits that belonging to the society can bring.
