Technical Lead, Digital Humanities

The School of Advanced Study, University of London is seeking to appoint a Technical Lead, Digital Humanities, who will collaborate in the design, development, delivery and management of its digital research projects and initiatives. This includes contributing to long-term Digital Humanities infrastructure planning, keeping up to date with Web and Digital Humanities research technologies, providing guidance and training for School staff in digital research methods, and developing and maintaining good relationships with internal and external suppliers and research partners. The postholder will have experience of using a range of research software environments and tools, knowledge of Python, R and other modern scripting languages and code compilation, and experience of managing multiple projects, including setting priorities and objectives, and monitoring and reporting on process, progress, and results. They will be an experienced team worker, with excellent analytical skills and a capacity to innovate.
The Technical Lead, Digital Humanities will be located in the School’s Digital Humanities Research Hub, which comprises a core team of researchers with connections to specific disciplines, including Classics, English, History and Modern Languages. The Hub develops digital projects and initiatives, offers training and teaching in digital methods and approaches, and carries out interdisciplinary research and supervision.
