This Research IT role, within Research & Innovation IT, is an opportunity to work with a range of exciting research projects enabling researchers to solve challenging problems. You will support researchers across all faculties. We are looking for a person with significant research computing experience to provide support for researchers and facilitate access to services across the research computing ecosystem. This requires supporting software over a range of research computing platforms supported by IT Services including personal work stations, virtual machines, central HPC facilities & public cloud services. This includes the provision of support for researchers using a range of tools for machine learning, big data analysis and computational modelling. You will support the exciting HPC clusters ShARC & Bessemer, the launch of our new HPC cluster Stanage, and the Tier 2 GPU clusters Bede & Jade II. You will be responsible for providing technical support, advice and guidance for internal/external users of IT systems and applications.
