Research Data Stewards (at Assistant, ‘standard’, Senior or Principal level)

UCL’s Advanced Research Computing Centre has launched a new recruitment campaign, with a new approach to our growth! We now have ‘always open’ adverts across all our professions – research software engineers, research data scientists, research data stewards, research infrastructure developers, and soon research & community managers too!

Apply at any time, at any grade from Assistant (just finished undergrad) to Principal (equivalent to associate professor) with your CV and a covering letter. We will review applications periodically and issue interview invitations according to our needs at the time and the applications available.

From time to time specific needs will be highlighted within the adverts, although general applications are still always welcome. Currently highlights include:

  • At Principal grade, a research data governance expert with significant experience of working with sensitive data and informing the development of services to securely analyse and share such data. They will ensure that the university has the systems and processes in place to enable productive, secure, and innovative research that is both trustworthy and reproducible.
  • At Senior grade, a data steward with a strong background of working with sensitive data who can help research teams with data governance. They should understand information security and risk management, and have a good knowledge of the issues involved in handling and disseminating sensitive data.
  • Data stewards with experience of managing healthcare data and a familiarity with the processes involved in clinical trials.
  • Generalist data stewards with an academic research background.

All our roles are permanent and come with a range of benefits, including an annual promotion scheme. Full details and application links are at https://www.ucl.ac.uk/advanced-research-computing/our-people/vacancies.
