On 2 November 2023, the Society hosted a webinar to discuss our plans for the annual RSE Conference. RSECon24 Co-Chairs Katie Finch and Dave Horsfall hosted the meeting, along with the conference steering group and previous committee members.

In this meeting, we discussed the goals for the 2024 conference, the committee roles and answered questions from the attendees. The main idea was to share the experiences of former committee members and answer questions about the roles:

• What are the responsibilities of each role?
• How much time and effort is involved?
• What roles would be good for people looking to get involved for the first time?

We also want to be as open as possible – and to engage with the community as much as possible – throughout the whole process of organising this year’s conference.

Note: The 2024 Call for Committee Members is now closed, and we’ll be announcing this year’s Committee shortly. However, this video (and the information below) may still be useful to anyone who is curious about how the conference is organised or is considering applying in future years.
