Ecosystem Lead (Senior Research Fellow)
Website Queen's University Belfast
What is the future of Fortran-based science and engineering?
FortranFuture is a three-year, EPSRC-funded Network+ collaboration between investigators at Queen’s University Belfast (the lead institution) and University of Southampton, complemented by an independent Advisory Board, and working with a wide range of national and international partner institutions, a growing community of practitioners and growing network of researchers.
The Ecosystem Lead will make an instrumental contribution to FortranFuture’s work on bringing together the global ecosystem, fore-sighting possible futures for the ecosystem, roadmapping expected opportunities and challenges, and establishing a sustainable community and research network for beyond the funded life-time of the project, as well as contributing (where appropriate) to the strategic oversight and allocation of approx. £450K flexible funding and securing future funding. The Ecosystem Lead will work closely with the Project Lead and Co-lead, other research colleagues, the project manager and other professional services (e.g., in the Centre for Intelligent Sustainable Computing and the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) and with the Accountability and Advisory Board.
