Research Software Engineer — Bilkent Quantum Computing & Topology (BilQCT)
The Bilkent Quantum Computing & Topology (BilQCT) group at Bilkent University is seeking a Research Software Engineer to develop, test, optimize, document, and maintain scientific software for classical simulation and benchmarking in quantum computing.
We are particularly interested in candidates with strong scientific programming and algorithm-implementation skills. Experience with Python or Julia is expected; familiarity with Git, automated testing, C/C++, performance-oriented programming, or high-performance computing is also valuable. The role involves working closely with researchers to translate algorithms from research papers, technical notes, and discussions into robust software.
Prior expertise in quantum computing is not required, though it is valued.
Intended start date: January 1, 2027
